Your life in weeks

This is a hard hitting visual for many people. It is for me and my clients...

It shows a typical person’s life represented in weeks. An example is given for a person at the age of 35, approximately halfway through their life denoted by the “X”

The coloured blocks represent common defined periods.

Where are you, and what will you be doing for the rest of your life?

Most of us are somewhere in the “career” section, if you haven’t moved, do you expect anything to change? How is that going to happen? Who is going to change it?

Questions to ask yourself:Are you happy with where you have been? How have the last few years played out? Much of the same? How are the next few years, or 20 years going to play out?Are you happy with the trajectory of your life? There were lots of str…

Questions to ask yourself:

  1. Are you happy with where you have been?

  2. How have the last few years played out? Much of the same?

  3. How are the next few years, or 20 years going to play out?

  4. Are you happy with the trajectory of your life?

  5. There were lots of structure changes between the age of 0-22 years, did you enjoy that? did you like the variety? will you be doing any changes during the career block?

Some people view this image as a short life, one that is rapidly running away from them, yet others view it as a vast ocean of emptiness, with little to no colour in the foreseeable future. They fear the idea of sticking to the same thing only to spend yet more time doing little that excites them into retirement. How do you view it?
